Who we are
HackBarna Digest is run by the HackBarna community in Barcelona. For any privacy question, write to digest@hackbarna.com and a human will answer.
What we collect
Depending on how you use the site:
- Newsletter subscribers: your email address and your preferred digest language.
- Account holders: your email address, an optional display name, and the events or communities you submit.
- Everyone: basic, aggregated usage statistics (pages viewed, referrer) with no advertising profiles.
Why we use it
Your email is used to send the weekly digest you asked for, and to notify you about events you submitted (approved, rejected, published). Submitted event and community details are published on this site because that is the point of the directory.
Who processes it
We use a small number of processors: Resend (email delivery and audience management), Supabase (database, authentication and file storage, hosted in the EU), and Lovable (hosting). Event pages link out to third-party ticketing sites such as Luma or Meetup; once you click through, their own policies apply.
How long we keep it
Subscriber emails are kept until you unsubscribe, after which the address is marked unsubscribed so we do not accidentally mail you again. Account data is kept while your account exists. Published event records stay in the archive because they are part of the public history of the Barcelona tech scene.
Your rights
You can unsubscribe from the digest at any time using the link in any email or our unsubscribe page. You can access, correct or delete your account data from your account page, or by writing to digest@hackbarna.com. If you are in the EU you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
